Feature Item:

Clark & Sons. Williamstown Lamont type bottle
Sailing ship trade mark.

One of Victoria's rarest and most desirable bullet stoppered bottles. This type of bottle had an internal stopper held against a ledge in the lip by the internal pressure of the gas in the aerated water. Bullet stoppered or ledge mouth bottles were particularly popular in Australia during the 1880s and 1890s but were still used until the 1920s in some parts of the country. The Clark and Sons bottle dates to around 1890.

Past Feature Items:
#1. Alex Hall, Williamstown Ice Blue Chemist.
