Feature Item:

M.A.Whittaker, Maryborough 13oz Lamont, Ledge-Mouth or Bullet Stoppered type aerated water bottle.
Circa 1889 - 1890s.

Hard to get bottle featuring a wonderful pictorial trade mark of an early Australian Coat of Arms

Mary Ann Whittaker operated the Maryborough Factory after her husband's death in 1889 until her own demise in 1905. The business however continued under the name M.A.Whittaker until the second world war

Lamont type bottles were very popular in Australia from the early 1880s but had largely disappeared from use by 1910.
